Mundhum Trail Trek

Mundhum Trail Trek is a newly established trekking trail in the eastern part of Nepal. The journey begins in Diktel, near the Halesi temple. Without a doubt, it is the most recently implemented official trek in Nepal since 2018. The trail passes over the ridge, revealing a magnificent view of the Himalayan peaks and mountains. This walk allows you to learn about the cultures of the Rai and Limbu ethnic groups.

The term Mundhum comes from the sacred book of the Kirat people, indigenous inhabitants who live in this area. During your trip, you will be able to see the people of Kirat, their customs, culture, traditions, and lifestyle. If you are looking for a virgin trekking route off the beaten path, at Mundhum Trail Trek, you will truly have a unique opportunity to do it. You must organize your food and accommodation on your own because there are no tea houses for most of the route.

Mundhum Trail Trek is a proposal for those adventurers who prefer to move through virgin terrain. The hike mainly traverses the mountain ridge and hill, practically always from a bird’s-eye view. The views of the imposing peaks and mountains of the Himalayas are also spectacular. You will be able to see around thirty different peaks, including several mountains of more than eight thousand meters, such as Everest, Lhotse, Choyu, Makalu, and Shishapangma. The highest point you will reach during this trip is Silichung Peak, 4,200 m above sea level.
